ROI Reporting Now in Beta Testing

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

As previously announced, on October 1 we started showing ROI data to a limited set of AdCommerce users. While we are planning to offer this tool to everyone, we first want to ensure that the ROI reporting data is easy to access and use. This initial pilot will run for a few months before we roll it out to all users.

Again, the goal is to offer ROI reporting to all of our AdCommerce users in the near future. Rest assured that we’re working diligently to roll out this feature in as timely a manner as possible.

New AdCommerce Features Coming September 23!

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Thanks to great feedback and suggestions from our users, AdCommerce is now even better with a refreshed look and great new features. Be sure to login on September 23 to check out the changes that make managing and optimizing your AdCommerce account easier than ever before. Some of the improvements in the new release include:

Simple ad creation and editing: We have added a new ad creation tool, called Ad Wizard, which quickly helps you create quality ads and find images for all of your ads at a keyword level. You’ll see the Ad Wizard tool when you select the ad type on the “create new ad” page. Also, we have gotten rid of the “advanced” flow and built a more user-friendly create flow for custom ads and ad editing.

New Account Home page: The new home page is designed to include useful information about your account upon login. One of the first things you’ll see when you login to your account is that we’ve added alerts to inform you about recent changes to your ads and keywords. We’ve also added a “ticker” of high-volume keywords which allows you to see which of your keywords are getting the most traffic.

Easy-to-use dashboards: We have new campaign, ad, and reporting dashboards. Each dashboard has received a refresh as well as usability enhancements such as in-line editing of ad cost-per-clicks to create a better user experience. Also, you can easily view or edit your ads, and run reports from either the “campaigns” or “ads” tabs.

Improved reporting: You can now create reports by day, by campaign, by ad, and by keyword. Gain insight into your ad performance over time by viewing two metrics on the same graph to compare results.

ROI beta test: Some users will be granted access to a beta test for Return on Investment (ROI) metrics on the Reporting tab. There are four ROI measurements that will be available to help you determine the efficiency of your advertising campaigns: # of Bids, Items Sold, Sales Amount, and Sales/Cost. These measurements track purchases and bids on eBay directly resulting from a click on one of your ads. If you’re in the test pool, you’ll receive a message and further information in the coming days when you sign in to your account.

We hope that you enjoy the improved AdCommerce functionality.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Impression Data Loss on September 3

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

AdCommerce encountered a global issue on September 3 in which impression data was lost for short periods between noon and midnight (US Mountain time). The problem that caused the data loss was resolved the following day, September 4. We estimate that approximately 10% of total impressions for that day were lost.

What this means to you is that your ads were displayed and clicked on as usual, but a portion of your impressions were not reported. Due to the under-reporting of impressions, your click-through rates will be slightly inflated for September 3.

Please keep in mind that this issue did not affect any other data recorded by AdCommerce, and will not affect your bill.

We apologize for the inconvenience and want to reaffirm our commitment to flawless data reporting.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any follow up questions.
